Our regular, (i.e. most months) every 2nd Thursday evening meetings
are held at Candela's.
Happy Hour & Dinner 1700-1900, Meeting 1900-2000

We occasionally have Saturday meetings such as those at the Tenaska Power Station or our annual October picnic at Bill Wellner's. We may also meet on a Saturday at a venue to be suggested by members and voted on by those attending our regular Thursday meetings. A typical Saturday meeting schedule might be:
Lunch & Fellowship 1100-1300, Meeting & Presentation 1300-1500

CANDELA'S - We're all big boys and should be able to find our way to any address provided (ha), however, here is one set of directions (from Charlottesville) to Candela's and a map for navigationally challenged members (like the Webmaster who oftentimes has to use his GPS unit). This is from MapQuest, but we can add other directions if anyone would like to submit them. This place is really just up the road from Dena's on Route 60 (Midlothian Turnpike) where we used to meet so it should be pretty painless for most of us.

The buttons on the left side are for meeting locations we've used in the past, some of which we may well use again so that's why they have been left up. We'll add additional buttons for Saturday venue locations as we may select them.

P.S. I left the directions to the American Legion Post up on the "Alternate" button just in case we should hold a special function there some time in the future - and also to the Tenaska Power Plant in case Robert ever invites us back.

For our archives: We voted at the December 2nd, 2004 meeting to relocate our meeting place from the Hooter's/Piccadilly Cafeteria combo to Dena's - where we enjoyed the Happy Hour period and dinner along with conducting our meeting at a single location. This change was effective with the first meeting in 2005 so on January 6th about 14 of us showed up and learned that there had been a scheduling glitch for the first Thursday reservations. Since we all agreed that Dena's was a great place to meet, Jack Winn coordinated a vote with those present, plus other members via e-mail, and it was decided to stay at Dena's but move the date to the third Thursday. Since we didn't conduct our usual meeting on January 6th, it was also decided to schedule our next meeting on the third Thursday in January - January 20th - However, due to weather conditions that meeting was canceled. Our next meeting was February 17th and our new officers were installed and our ladies joined us for dinner at that meeting which began at 1700 with the meeting following at 1900. The next chapter in this saga occurred at our June 16th meeting during which we voted to move our meeting day to the SECOND Thursday of every month, beginning July 14th. TO REITERATE THEN - WE NOW WILL MEET EVERY SECOND THURSDAY OF THE MONTH BEGINNING JULY 14TH. And the final (we hope) chapter is that Dena's went bankrupt and so we relocated our meeting venue to Candela's Pizzeria & Italiano at 14235 Midlothian Turnpike, Midlothian, VA 23113 - but still the SECOND THURSDAY OF EVERY MONTH.
