*** PLEASE FORGIVE THE ORGANIZATION OF OUR ARCHIVES WHILE WE BEGIN THE PROCESS OF POSTING THE SCANS OF THESE ITEMS - WHICH MAY NOT BE IN ANY PARTICULAR ORDER UNTIL WE FINISH ***

in May, 2003 a new member of USS Virginia Base, Keith Link, delivered a box of miscellaneous photos and memorabilia he had received from his sub vet father, for the Base to maintain. Base Vice Commander Roger Warden then completed the Herculean effort of cataloging all of these materials and on August 11, 2003 he provided the complete inventory list shown below.

Roger is also in the process of digitizing (scanning) these historic submarine service related items which will then be posted on this web site. While this significant effort is in progress, Roger has offered to scan items that may be of interest to others but whose images are not yet posted, and then forward them directly to requesting individuals as e-mail attachments or on CD-ROM. You may contact Roger directly by clicking on his name and sending him an e-mail. As the items in this collection are digitized the images will be posted on this page to the right of the item name. Donations to the USS Virginia Base towards the expense of shipping & handling and operating this web site would be most appreciated.

GREAT JOB, ROGER - WELL DONE ON WHAT YOU HAVE ALREADY COMPLETED AND KEEP UP THE GREAT SCANNING EFFORT!

Webmaster Note 1:
Some of you may know this, but for those who don't - you can search for keywords on this web page by going to the "Edit" pull-down menu in Internet Explorer and then selecting "Find (on this page)". Type in the name of a person or a boat or something fairly simple that you may be interested in checking and then click on "Find Next". This method offers a low-tech way to do an automatic search of everything in this collection. Tip: KISS (keep it simple stupid) and you'll have better results.
Webmaster Note 2:
As Roger forwards the scanned images for posting on this web site they will be placed in the inventory list as small thumbnail images to the right of the description. Each thumbnail will then be linked to a larger high resolution image more suitable for detailed viewing and printing. These larger resolution images will be organized by placing several of them in numbered archive photo albums with their placement determined solely based on when they were received. After clicking on a thumbnail and being taken to the larger image you may right-click on the image and select "Save Picture as" or "Print Picture". This will save Roger a great deal of time and effort and will be greatly appreciated. Please let the Webmaster know if you have any difficulty with this procedure.
