Minutes of First Meeting

On July 18, 2002 a new submarine base was formed in the Richmond, Virginia area. eleven members present.

The base was formed under the constitution of the USSVI. Ron Williams, District 3 Commander, supervised the establishment of the new base.

The required three offices were filled by:

Jack Winn - Base Commander
Roger Warden - Vice Commander
John Ortiz Secretary - Treasurer

Base dues of $10 were collected from eleven members present

Base dues of $10 were collected from seven addition members that could not be at the meeting but indicated they wish to join.

Four members present also joined the USSVI.

Each member present gave their name, rate, what boat qualified on and what other boats served on.

Several outstanding sea stories were told.

Roger Warden was thanked for arranging for the Base Virginia to meet at fire station for the first time and from then on.

Members present voted to hold regular monthly meetings on the first Tuesday of the month. The next meeting will be on 1 August.

Members present voted to hold monthly meetings at the Chesterfield Fire Station on Polo Drive in Midlothian, Virginia.
